Cigar Box Magic – Encaustic Art
In this 3-hour Key West home studio workshop, we’ll transform Cuban cigar boxes with your own photos into personalized flotsam boxes—perfect for holding your treasures & jetsam.
This sculptural, sensory process is pure flow state—no experience needed, just curiosity.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
• How to transfer your own images
• Adding texture & depth with mark-making
• Gold leaf embellishment
• Fusing layers of oil pigment with damar resin & beeswax (encaustic medium) using a heat gun or torch
• Add liner & hardware fittings
• How to safely, simply, & cost-effectively set up your own practice (if desired)
COST
$150 per person
$125 per person for 3 people / $375 total
All materials included. Save $5 if you bring your own box.
